Zola
Zola is situated in the North of Kefalonia, and is approximately 15 to 20 minutes drive from Lixouri and 30 minutes into Argostoli. Zola is a beautiful and typical Greek village, if you like peaceful surroundings then this is place for you. The Villas are situated on the hillside, with spectacular views of the mountain and Agi Kiraki beach. With Zola being a traditional village there are no local bars or shops to hand, so a drive is essential for your everyday needs, this does add to the charm of the Villas location. The 2 beaches surrounding the Villas are a pleasant walk, but are quite hilly. From Agi Kiraki beach you can hire a motor boat where you can explore other beaches and the picturesque coastline. The other local beach is Vouti beach, this is a quiet and secluded little cove.
Lixouri
Lixouri is the place to go for excellent food and bars, it is a very friendly town, with plenty to do, especially on the harbor front where you will find all the restaurants, you can sit eat and drink watching the Ferry go back and forth from Argostoli, and the luxury yachts that pull in to take in the amenities Lixouri has to offer. The main square in Lixouri is bustling with life at night where children play safely, and you can sit and relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There are Supermarkets and banks for all your essentials. To enjoy a real busy town then why not take the ferry over to Argostoli, this is a pleasant journey, and children really enjoy this trip. There you will find an array of various restaurants and plenty of shops to buy your holiday treats.
There are many places to visit in the surrounding area of Zola, a 15 minute drive North will bring you to the most photographed beach in Greece, Myrtos Beach, the views from above are amazing, and if you are a keen photographer you will have some amazing pictures to take home with you. There are 2 other towns to visit on your journey North, Agia Eifimia and Sami, these are beautiful waterfront towns with plenty of restaurants and bars, if you travel further North, you will find the pretty village of Assos, and further on again you will find Fiskardo, this is a famous harbor where hundreds of artists visit every year for the stunning scenery, and where the famous visit in their yachts.
